Austria is famous for it’s Christmas markets. It is not just the festive music, the festive lights, and stalls selling glittering Christmas products that draws people to them. It is also the ambiance, the smells of the local food on sale for takeaway in the stalls, the Glühwein with friends, and of course the carol singing.
And Salzburg is an amazing backdrop for Christmas markets, with it’s wintery, snowy scenes. You will of course have to wrap up warm as the markets are all outdoors.
