Haus Schneeberg accommodation
Haus Schneeberg, or Snowy Mountain House, is named after Schneeberg mountain in the resort, where you can ski and hike. It is situated in the centre of Mühlbach am Hochkönig, 2 minutes walk from shops and restaurants and 100m from the ski and hiking bus stop. Haus Schneeberg has 3 one bedroom apartments, each sleeping up to 4-5 people, all with south facing balconies.
We are family and dog friendly, with free wifi available for guests and a free parking space per apartment. The apartments offer self catering facilities, flat screen TV, and fresh linen and towels. There is a ski and boot room and boot drier in the cellar, and bikes can also be stored here. There is a family room in the cellar, which guests are welcome to use to play games or eat in a larger party.
Apartments Aberg and Hochkeil are on the first floor and Selbhorn apartment is on the second floor, built in the eaves of the house with a private balcony.
Our minimum stay is from 2 nights in low season, up to 5 nights in peak season, and we offer discounts for 5 nights or more.
In the garden, there is a large gas BBQ available for guest use (for a small additional charge to cover use of gas and cleaning), and there is a large table with benches and parasol so you can enjoy the weather!
We offer a continental buffet breakfast as an optional extra. This includes cereals, fresh rolls, croissants, cheese and ham, jams, yoghurt, fruit, juice and tea/coffee/hot chocolate. This is €8 per person, €5 per child up to 12. We also offer a fresh bread service if you would prefer to make your own breakfast in your apartment.
Please note that the supermarket in the village closes at 6pm on Saturday in high season and 12pm in low season, and there are no supermarkets in the area open on Sunday. If you are arriving late Saturday afternoon and would like us to organise a Welcome pack of food, please let us know.
There is a children’s play area across the road, which is open during the Summer months.

Haus Schneeberg is situated in the centre of Mühlbach am Hochkönig, a traditional old copper mining village, with access to ski and hiking routes, 60km South of Salzburg. It is ideal for a ski or hiking and biking holiday. In the village, there are restaurants, banks with ATMs, a supermarket, a bakery, ski hire and ski school shops, among other facilities.
Value for money in the resort is excellent – you will find food and drink prices substantially lower than most other ski resorts. The scenery is beautiful and the location is fantastic for both winter and summer holidays.
In winter, you have access to over 120km of pistes in the Hochkönig ski area via the local gondola station, 750m from the House.
You can ski back to within 100m of the house, along the ski path, snow conditions permitting. The area has a wealth of mountain restaurants serving tasty local delights at really reasonable prices. You also have access to over 760km of pistes in the Ski Amadé area, which includes ski resorts such as Schladming, Flachau, Zauchensee, Gastein, and the Dachstein glacier
In Summer, there are over 340km of hiking trails, along with many other activities where you can take advantage of the beautiful scenery. There is an open air swimming pool in the village, along with tennis, archery, horseriding, geocaching, and many other activities in the area.
As we are in the centre of the Salzburg region, it is an ideal place to explore the sights. The most popular sights to see are Hohenwerfen castle, Eisriesenwelt (the largest ice caves in the World), Grossglockner high Alpine road, Hallstatt, the Königssee and Berchtesgaden, Salt mines, waterfalls, gorges, and of course Salzburg itself!
